Become an Aquacise Tutor
The Swimming Teachers' Association (STA) has developed an Aquacise
Teachers Training Programme specifically for those who want to become
a fully qualified Aquacise teacher full time or moreover to expand
their teaching portfolio. It is designed to train teachers to take
aqua sessions of most ability ranges and all fitness levels from the
beginner to the athlete. The programme uses the resistance of water
and other available aqua exercise equipment.
As well as the swell in demand for more classes, Aquacise is fast
becoming a popular 'extra' for the increasing amount of fitness instructors
who want to take their knowledge into the water.
The benefits
of becoming an Aquacise Instructor
- Once qualified as an STA Aquacise Instructor, you may,
subject to conditions, and with the approval of the STA use the name
'Aquacise' to promote your classes.
- Not only learning about the logistics
of preparing an Aquacise class, you will be taught other crucial
components aqua choreography, legalities, and poolside risk assessments.
- Adding
an Aquacise qualification to your CV will naturally increase your
job opportunities - a varied and full portfolio is more appealing
to a future employer than a rigid job history.
- Once qualified, the opportunities
to personalise your classes are endless. Becoming a qualified instructor
is ideal for a personal trainer who wants to offer something different
to their client, or for any instructor that wants to offer a more
diverse and exciting package. Different class formats, such as circuits,
martial arts for example, taught to you on the course, will enable
you to develop unique fitness programs for the people who access
your classes.
- Training
teaches you about the benefits of the natural resistance of the water
and introduces you to the various items of resistance equipment that
is currently being used in the Aquacise arena.
- On the Aquacise training
course, as an added incentive, you will receive full STA certification
on shallow and deep water - another impressive addition to your qualifications
portfolio.
- As a qualified STA Aquacise instructor, you will be eligible
to become a full member of the STA, which means that you can take
full advantage of a full range of benefits of services. These include:
- FREE
loss of income insurance
- FREE legal helpline
- FREE legal assistance on swimming related disputes
- FREE bi-monthly
